Say no to High Fat, High Sugar Diets!

10 Nov

High fat and high sugar diets have been linked to a higher risk of acute coronary heart disease. The research shows that this risk is 50% higher in people consuming these diets, than in people consuming a plant based diet.

High fat and high sugar diets have also been linked to increased insulin which can increase risk for diabetes

The easiest way to have a healthy body is to have a healthy diet. Like Michael Pollan puts it: ‘Eat food, not too much, mostly plants.’

Forget Cholesterol, Cut Sugar Consumption

New Dietary guidelines say to forget cholesterol, instead, cut sugar out. No link has been found between dietary cholesterol and heart disease. But a significant link was found between sugar and heart disease. The recommendations are to limit sugar to 10% of calories consumed per day, I would try to aim for less than this.

Eating a plant based diet and avoiding consumption of processed foods is the healthiest way to go.
