Did you know that the more fruits you consume, the lower the risk you have for cardiovascular disease?

Once again, it has been proved with a study done in China, with more than 500,000 people, where the results show that adults with a higher level of fruit consumption had lower blood pressure and lower blood glucose, which in turn, lowers their risk for cardiovascular disease.

Did You Know?… About Brain Health

2 Nov

Did you know that a Western diet high in saturated fat can shrink the brain?

A study in Australia shows how the brain of people consuming an unhealthy diet, characterized of meat, hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and soft drinks, showed a decrease in volume versus the brain of people consuming a healthy diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, grilled fish and salad.

This ‘brain shrinkage’ is associated with neurodegenerative disorders, depression, impaired learning and memory.

The good news is that if you eat a healthy diet, you can promote the growth of new neurons and have a healthy brain and life.

japan
Did you know that japan has the longest life expectancy at 83 years?
This is due to people being socially and economically active beyond their 60s and also to a healthy lifestyle. Japanese obesity rates are only 3.5% while they are 30% in the U.S. Japanese eat seasonal produce, lots of vegetables, fish and vegetable protein like tofu.
Maybe we should start eating more like them and become more physically active so we can reduce our obesity rates and be healthier!

Salmon

Did you know that the FDA approved genetically modified salmon for human consumption?

This fish is developed by AquaBounty an American company which in my opinion, has no respect for humans or the environment. Can you imagine the damage that can be produced if these fish get into the wild and contaminate all the other fish?

We have seen the damage that all the other GMO have caused; Obesity, diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease. Please say no to GMO, please say no to GM fish, read the labels, ask the government to label these.
