Obesity Facts

Did you know that? :

  • There are more than 500 million obese people worldwide
  • Obesity is considered an epidemic
  • Obesity rates have now more than doubled since 1980
  • 43 million children were obese in 2010
  • The U.S. is the most obese country in the world at 33% of the population, followed by Mexico at 24.2%
  • I found an interesting fact: 27 out of the 28 countries listed as the most obese countries in the World have at least 3 McDonald’s restaurants (the only one missing is Iceland which did have 3 McDonald’s until 2009)
  • The countries with the highest consumption of soft drinks are exactly the countries with the highest obesity rates!
  • Some of the consequences of obesity are: cardiovascular disease, infertility, stroke, diabetes, depression, cancer, sleep apnea, chronic renal failure and the list goes on and on…

BUT the BEST part of all is:

  • Obesity and overweight can both be prevented by eating healthy!
  • This means: no junk food and  lots of organic, fresh, natural food.

Remember… “You are what you eat”

 Eat healthy be happy…
